Passion for Inter

Among the written and said today about the newly made champion of Italy with a keen interest are several theses that claim to search and highlight the reverse and, of course, not the purest side won by Inter, scudetto. Once the passions around the definition of the best club of Serie A have subsided, it's time to try to find the ground under accusations against him.

Thesis is the first. MVK, or Moratti bought everyone

The owner of "Inter" Massimo Moratti for 12 years of running the club really bought a lot of them. Of course, we are talking about players and coaches for “Beneamata” (“beloved”, speaking the language of fans, teams). About 400 million pounds were fed by the Italian oil tycoon to the gluttonous transfer market, and only recently has been able to get material and moral returns.

If we assume the truth of the thesis about buying up everyone and everything in a broad sense, then a counter-question immediately arises: how much money had to be put out to buy the silence of Luciano Moji or, for example, the same Silvio Berlusconi, whose club was directly affected by last year’s scandal?

Even having beaten himself to the skin, Moratti would not have pulled such expenses. Indeed, according to the estimates of the authoritative Forbes magazine, his fortune is exactly ten times less than the wealth of the owner of Milan with its 10 billion dollars. And even more so, no one interfered with the “humiliated and insulted” superclubs, if there were any reasons to initiate a counter-process against Signor Massimo, or at least seek further extraction of all the details of the Mogdigate to the light, to bring Inter into the minus, or even grab it with themselves in series B.

Telecom Italy, a telephone operator and one of the largest shareholders of Inter, could well facilitate listening to conversations of arbitrators, club leaders and other interested parties. But this is a completely different story. And not a single logical chain from it suggests a conclusion about the MVK.

The thesis of the second. Without Juve in Serie A, the champion is not real

The black and white shadow of the Old Signora, even from the second division, was able to cover the fifteenth scudetto of Inter. Enemies ridicule the title "Nerazzurri" earned in the absence of Juventus in the Serial. Of course, the Italian championship has long been unthinkable without the Turin “Bianconeri”. And part of the bright spectrum of the country's strongest league was darkened, fortunately, only for the season. However, it is hardly worth considering Juve as a kind of standard or template for which you need to equate the country's champion. After all, exemplary specimens exist only under glass in the Paris Chamber of Weights and Measures.

“Inter” played by the rules, earned a title on the field and proved its strength even in an absentee dispute: high quality of the game, a record series of victories and ahead of schedule compared to last year “Juve”, all this speaks for itself.

In addition, thesis number 2 is associated with another crucial issue. What is more honest and more athletic: to be ignorant of the fact that you are being fooled and slipped by an inflated champion, or still to see and stop the deception, even at such a price? Everyone decides for himself.

The third point. The real strength of Inter was shown by the meetings with Valencia in the Champions League and the home game of the championship with Roma

The mentioned matches, although they gave facts for the construction of thesis number three, played, rather, the role of a kind of mirror, which clearly reflected the weaknesses of the team.

“Inter” for half a season did not have time to gain experience playing with rivals comparable in class, and “bats” did not follow the example of the Italian middle peasants and did not fold their wings under his pressure. Milanese in games with the Spaniards, in contrast to the same Chelsea, lacked focus and concentration - even with an abundance of scoring chances. Roberto Mancini weaved a velvet atmosphere in the team, but the spirit of the winners has not yet become the team's twelfth regular player. This is perhaps the only serious drawback of the Nerazzurri in the season ending.

The pursuit of a hundred points declared in the Apennines in the final table was not supported by the players' motivation. If Inter needed this amount of points to climb the first place, then there can be no doubt that they would have been scored.

By coincidence, the postponed match with Roma could no longer affect the outcome of the championship race, but it turned into a moment of truth for the capital's club. In addition, Luciano Spaletti showed exceptional intuition and in the second half seized the initiative in the match of equal teams.
