Roman Berezovsky: “In the spring, anything happens”

In an interview with Sport Today, the goalkeeper of Khimki near Moscow appreciated the chances of his club before the match with CSKA, defended Rodina and admitted that after the first division you will forget about anything.

- Just returned from training?

- Yes, we were preparing for the match with the champion. Finally, we will really test our strength in the Premier League. And then for the last three rounds I did not understand how she changed during the year of my absence. Either I played a little, or something else ... It's ridiculous to say, but so far I have not felt a significant difference between the first division and the Premier League. I think I'll see her tomorrow. The only thing that upsets is the weather. It’s hard to train in such a cold and snowfall. And tomorrow they promise the same weather.

- Goalkeepers are probably especially unpleasant to play in the cold and snow?

- Of course, you never know what can freeze. Although I think CSKA will warm me up well. In general, in such weather, you won’t envy field players - the snow falls into your eyes, and they smear past the gate.

- Valery Gazzaev has already criticized the Rodina stadium, which will host the match. Do you agree with his opinion?

- We only played one game there and even never trained, so that the field would not be spoiled once again. In any case, one should not make the “Homeland” extreme. You know, in Moscow there are many other fields that can be criticized even more strongly. The same lawn on Dynamo. Or a field at Streltsov Stadium - I don’t know how it is now, but before I had to play there on bare ground. Club leaders need to find a way out of the difficult situation with the spring fields - to cut the lawns or do something else. If we are going to switch to the autumn-spring system, it is worth working on the quality of the fields now. Even if they put artificial ones, it’s still better than bumps.

- Remember your last game against CSKA?

- I hardly remember. It was, it seems, in 2005. I played for Dynamo. Yes, yes, we lost 0: 2. In my opinion, then the army had the same composition as now, only without Jo and Ramon. It’s just that I had such a busy last season that my memory erased a little. With the first league and about CSKA you forget ... I remember that it was difficult then. It seems to me that the only chance to defeat the current CSKA is to meet with them during the recession that comes with any team.

- But what about Tikhonov and Parfyonov? Do they agree with your opinion about the chances?

- When playing with a favorite, counting on only two leaders does not make sense. All players must work on the result. Then, perhaps, we ourselves will make the army begin to decline. I didn’t mean that we have no chance against the champion. I just want to say that if someone in our team performs poorly, as they say, will drop out of the game, we will not be in trouble. To play well with CSKA, you need to learn from the Moscow Dynamo - so far only he has managed to take points from the army. Our field players need to put more pressure and fight for the ball, not to give them a pass. If there is a lot of struggle, at least we will not lose. In addition, spring football will help us - anything happens in it.
