“It is impossible to fight speculators”

The head of the IIHF Rene Fasel, together with the president of the FHR Vladislav Tretyak held a press conference on the upcoming World Cup, and again assured that there were no problems with the tournament. And with tickets everything is fine.

The news that, it turns out, tickets to the World Cup were not even printed in Moscow should have shocked the public, but did not impress the head of the organizing committee, Alexander Polinsky.

“In an article where some information was overly emotional, there were a lot of inaccuracies,” he shrugged. - Single tickets and should not be sold. They will not appear at the box office on March 28. And before that, you can take only packages.

Vladislav Tretyak was also asked about tickets. He also remained calm, redirecting questions to specialists.

Rene Fasel began the speech ambiguously:

“Five years ago, we gave Russia the right to host the World Cup,” he said and thought about something of his own. Apparently, about errors.

The head of international hockey then specified that so far he sees only one serious problem in organizing the World Cup - traffic jams. At the same time, he called this problem in Russian, demonstrating that it is not in vain that he travels to our country.

“There are still questions about visa support,” he mentioned casually. - By placement ... But all this, I hope, will be resolved.

The organizers began to wonder how they would deal with speculators. No way.

“And this is not what we should do,” Polinsky said. - This should be done by the police. I’ll say that faking tickets will be very difficult. They will have several degrees of protection.

Vladislav Tretyak provided only one useful information: the rights to show the World Cup were given (well, not sold!) To the TV channel Sport. But to what extent the championship will be broadcast, so far no one knows.

Of course, there were questions about the contract with the NHL.

“A new arena will be built in Vancouver for the Olympics,” Fasel began. - Yes, yes, I will first talk about the Olympic Games, and then about the contract.

Nobody wanted to listen about the Olympics.

“In general, I’m scheduled a meeting with Medvedev (a speech about the chairman of the SKA board of directors and the deputy chairman of Gazprom; apparently, without Medvedev, nothing is being decided in the election year now - A.Sh. ),” Fazel said importantly. - And then with my friend Vladislav Tretyak (a friend grunted - A.Sh. ). We will listen, and on March 21 we will meet with representatives of the NHL in Zurich and talk about this topic.

That is, there is no news under the contract with the NHL.

Rene Fasel was leaving the hall with Alexander Steblin. Nearby was Vsevolod Kukushkin. They all went up to the hall, where a table was laid for them. Perhaps tomorrow there will be news that the World Cup has been moved to another city.
