“We played like a BMW”

For a long time it was not possible to see Vladimir Fedotov so pleased. And all because his “Spartak” thanks to Luzhnikov's draw with “Bavaria” kept hopes to extend the European Cup cycle, albeit in the UEFA Cup.

One of the Bavarian fans was perhaps the most extravagant fan who came to us, at least for the Champions League matches. It was packed in ... club roses. And, probably, all the teams with which the German squad met for a good ten years.

And the German was wearing a big hat with innumerable badges. It was difficult for him to move. And the only thing he allowed himself was to raise his hands twice - at the moments of goals scored by the Munich team. At the same time, he began to be led from side to side. It was read in the eyes of a man that he did not want to defeat the hosts, and a score of 0-0 would suit him perfectly.

German fans were almost silent. Moreover, the rhythm of their endless chants resembled the familiar: “Hey, Semak, let's beat it!”, “Only Yashin, only Dynamo!” And even “Our Spartak is a great club!”

These Germans froze only when the owners scored. But instead of being upset, they took out mobile phones and cameras, taking pictures of the Spartak fans' sector. It was beautiful from fires, lighters and other sparklers.

... In the sub-tribune room after the match, festive fuss reigned. Wojciech Kowalewski, in a red and white scarf and without visible signs of a collision with a Saturnian Gyan on his head, tried to drag his acquaintance into the forbidden zone. But nothing happened.

“Hey, what are you ...” Wojciech began. But he quickly realized that he could not stand another hassle. Although the security at the Luzhniki Stadium is rather puny.

Vladimir Fedotov was proud of himself and the team. He was noticeably late for a press conference because he was giving live interviews.

“I am satisfied with the football that Spartak demonstrated, and with the dedication of the players,” said the coach and began to pick up car analogies (probably inspired by Moscow traffic jams). - We played today against one of the best teams in Europe. I would compare it to a Mercedes.

Fedotov likened his team to BMW, simultaneously reproaching the domestic manufacturer:

- Unfortunately, I can not compare Spartak with Lada, Volga, or Pobeda. Our club is above class.

However, it seems that the Spartak BMW so far is only the Kaliningrad assembly.

There were few questions for the players. Alexei Zuev took all the blame for the goals on himself, saying that he “got in the wrong place” when they scored him. And Yegor Titov noted that the result is fair.

German football players were struck by indifference to their own reporters. Only two or three stopped. And Oliver Kahn, to whom everyone rushed together, pretended to be deaf.

How harmoniously he looked in CSKA ...
