Hiddink presented with Russian icons

Guus Hiddink is 60 years old

On Wednesday, Moscow celebrated the anniversary of Guus Hiddink. The head coach of the Russian football team, who will have to play the qualifying match against the Macedonians in a week, could not escape to his homeland, and therefore he received guests at the Ararat Park Hyatt hotel in a restaurant with a glass roof. In addition to flowers, Hiddink was presented with reproductions of Russian icons and a set with cigars. Other gifts were securely packed, and it was not possible to guess the contents of the boxes.

The leadership of the Russian Football Union arrived at the hotel before dinner. In addition to President Vitaly Mutko, CEO Sergey Pryadkin, his deputy Aleksey Ovchinnikov, commercial director Petr Makarenko, head of the international department Yekaterina Fedyshina (also acting as a translator) gathered to congratulate the hero of the day. The RFU Vice-President Sergey Kapkov also arrived, who is also an assistant to Roman Abramovich and the head of the National Football Academy foundation. This structure, as you know, pays for the work of Mr. Hiddink in Russia. Abramovich himself was not among the congratulators.

The company took the elevator to the restaurant, which is located on the 10th floor of the hotel. There she was already waiting for the hero of the day, dressed casually - in jeans and a shirt. Vitaly Mutko gave Hiddink a bouquet of flowers and an album with Russian icons. “I am very pleased,” Hiddink thanked. “Especially Elizabeth will like such a gift.” Hiddink's wife joined the company a little later. By that time, on the table stood a spilled bottle of champagne, fruit and a cappuccino so beloved by the Dutch coach. By the way, the leadership of the RFU managed to study the weaknesses of Hiddink well. Izvestia managed to find out that one of the presents for the hero of the day was a box of Cuban cigars - although Hiddink tries not to smoke in public, he has such a habit.

The Dutchman, accepting gifts, looked cheerful and cheerful: "I don’t feel myself for 60 years. But, by the way, such conclusions should not be made by myself, but by a woman. She knows best."
