Super skis

PROSPORT collected 25 facts about the Russian hockey championship starting on September 7 - how much the FHR clubs will pay, how the defenders will play and who is Harutyunyan

1- In hockey circles, the bulky expression “Super League Player” was replaced by the vernacular “Super Skier” in the early 21st century by analogy with the Enhael player. Example: "Super skiers have arrived and are waiting for the Enhael team to gather."

2 - The most titled head coach at the start of the championship will be Valery Belousov. He has won three victories in the Russian championship - in 1999, 2001 (as part of Magnitogorsk Metallurg), in 2004 (as part of Avangard) - and one in the Russian Cup in 1998 (as part of the same "Magnitogorsk").

3 - Despite the competition among fans arranged during the off-season, the management of Mytishchi “Chemist” did not define a new name for the club, which could adequately replace its current high-profile, historical name. Now the club will retain its name for at least one more season.

According to the regulations of the championship, changing the name during the season is prohibited. Therefore, the confusion with the two existing "Chemists" - Sunday and Moscow Region - will continue until the summer of 2007.

4 - Refereeing in the championship of Russia, as well as the size of the equipment of goalkeepers will correspond to the Enhael maximum. The new interpretation of the rules will concern the so-called restraining fouls: delaying an opponent's club, delaying with his hands and attacking a player who does not own the puck. Here's what these changes look like:
1. Delay of the opponent with a club:
a) A player does not have the right to use his stick against an opponent’s club from behind or on the side of the opponent if he gains a positional advantage or slows down the opponent’s speed using the hook.
b) It is forbidden to touch the opponent’s hands with his club during his throw.
c) Players must keep the club on ice. If the player raises the stick and starts to touch the opponent, then the probability of removal increases. If the player’s actions go beyond the rules, deletion will follow.
d) The defending player is forbidden to put his stick to the side, preventing the opponent from moving forward (the so-called barrier).
Touching an opponent with a club as such (with the exception of a hit) will not be prohibited.
Also, it is still allowed to touch the stick of your opponent, with the exception of the interval between the grasp hands.
2. Delay of the opponent by hands:
Forbidden:
a) Grasp a standing opponent with two hands.
b) Hold the opponent with his hands by the side if he begins to move along it.
c) Grab your hands on a sweater.
d) Hold the moving player with one hand.
e) An attempt by the player who owns the puck to remove the stick of the defending player with his hand will be interpreted as a delay of the opponent's club.
3. Attack of a player who does not own the puck:
a) If a player’s stick is between the opponent’s legs and interferes with his movement, this is considered a violation. While the club is between the legs, but both players are in a static position, no violation of the rules is given. As soon as one of the players starts to move, the hockey player who puts a stick between his legs gets a penalty.
b) If the player made the transfer and his teammate took the pass, then the force technique applied to the transferor after this is considered late and is punishable by deletion.
All the above violations will be punished with a fine of two minutes.
4. Goalkeeper outfit sizes (shields and traps) will be reduced by 10%.

5 - Nine goalkeepers from abroad will be the main goalkeepers in their clubs. This is only three less than last season, despite the fact that from this year FHR introduces a tax on a foreign goalkeeper. Canadians Mark Lamot (Severstal), Travis Scott (Metallurg Mg), Latvian Peteris Skudra (CSKA) and Czech Vladimir Gudachek (Metallurg Nk) were joined by Canadian Mike Fountain, who transferred from Tractor to Lada, and also Finns Mika Noronen (Ak Bars), Petri Vehanen (Neftekhimik), Czech Martin Prusek (SKA) and Slovak Pavol Ribar (Amur).
In addition to them, the Super League has five more goalkeepers, immigrants from neighboring countries who are also taxed: Kazakhstan citizens Vitaly Yeremeyev (Dynamo), Vitaly Kolesnik (Chemist), Belarusians Andrei Mezin (Salavat Yulaev), Sergey Shabanov (“ Metallurgist »Mg) and Ukrainian Konstantin Simchuk (HC MVD).
In the 2008/09 season, goalkeepers who do not have the right to play for the Russian national team will be banned from playing in Russian clubs.

6 - SKA striker Maxim Sushinsky is the most productive regular season player at the start of the Super League championship. He has 189 goals in 544 matches. The saga with the transition of one of the most striking forwards, whose striking talent was revealed in Vanguard, ended quite unexpectedly. After Sushinsky did not have a good season at Dynamo (a total of 11 goals in the championship and 6 months without a salary), rumors spread about his transfer to Rangers to former partner in the Omsk troika Yaromir Yagru. But the rumors remained rumors, and St. Petersburg Sushinsky ended up in his native SKA, in which he is likely to end his career. But to increase the score to the abandoned washers by a couple of dozen he is quite capable of. Sushinsky is followed by another of his former partners in the Omsk troika - Dmitry Zatonsky. He has 170 goals in 520 games.

FHR from Super League clubs will receive 7–95 million rubles as an entry fee for participating in competitions.
The entry fee is 5 million rubles. Despite the impressive size of the amount, for most clubs with a salary ceiling of 300 million rubles, it will amount to just over one and a half percent of the costs of hockey players, and taking into account the total budget of the club, it is even less than one percent.

8 - Contrary to popular belief, the most charismatic player in the Super League will not be the charismatic captain of Severstal Andrei Kovalenko, who was born
June 7, 1970, and the defender of Siberia Alexander Karpovtsev, who was born exactly two months earlier.
In addition to them, the defender of Neftekhimik Dmitry Balmin (15.07.70) may argue over time for the right to become the main veteran of the championship.

9 - During the season, FHR will conduct doping tests after each round and at least 50 more samples in the out of competition period.
The Federation carried out doping control earlier, but, according to the hockey players themselves, they learned from the general managers of the clubs or personal agents about the timing of the “random” check for a month and stopped accepting “chemistry” in advance. Nikolai Durmanov, head of the OCD candidate inspection inspection, assured that this time even he and the representative of the FHR would know about the upcoming procedure this day. Perhaps this threatens the first serious doping scandals in Russian hockey. In previous years, it regularly happened that the doping test yielded a positive result, and one of the clubs - championship leaders on the sidelines was not shy about calling a pharmacy, but never before did it come to serious disqualifications. The victims were limited to missing one or two matches.

10 - The salary ceiling officially in force at the beginning of the season will amount to 300 million rubles. This includes not only the hockey player’s salary directly, but also prize money, any valuable items and property donated by the club to the player or his relatives, as well as payment to the hockey player’s family for a holiday or training.
At the beginning of last season, according to unofficial data, only Perm Hammer-Prikamye, who has now left the Super League, could fit into this ceiling. It is not surprising that several leading clubs at once - Lokomotiv, Vanguard, Magnitogorsk Metallurg, Dynamo - released their many stars. Another thing is surprising: how could the new requirements of the league be fulfilled, the Khimik near Moscow increased (off-season 05/06 - $ 18 million) and retained last year's Ak Bars ($ 55 million).

11 - Clubs that have taken the last two places according to the results of the regular championship may reserve the right to play in the Super League next season if one of the teams that have taken the higher places does not meet the standards necessary for getting into the elite division .
The requirements for clubs guaranteeing admission to the Super League have not changed compared to last season: an ice arena with 5,500 seats, the presence of a farm club and a youth sports school.

12 - The legendary hockey specialist Boris Mikhailov will head the SKA for the fifth time in his 25-year-old coaching career.

From now on, the club will have to pay the club for the failure to appear or untimely arrival of its player at the location of the Russian team. This figure confirms that the main goal of the FHR, and therefore the clubs in the 2006/07 season, is to win the Moscow World Cup.

14 - The number of shoot-outs from five will be reduced to three. This change was introduced for a more dynamic ending, because the probability of a draw outcome in a series of three shootings will decrease, which will reduce the possibility of a repeat of the situation of the previous season, when in the 1/8 playoff match between Ak Bars and the MVD HC, we had to break through as many as possible 22 bullets.

15 - In the playoffs with the score in the series 2-2, shoot-outs will not break through. Instead, they will be held 20-minute overtime before the first goal wasted.
Last season, this rule applied only to the fifth match of the final series. In the present, it was decided to introduce it for all stages of the playoffs. So, the probability of seeing a decisive match that ends long after midnight, like those that happen in the NHL, increases 13 times!

16 - At least 98.2 million rubles ($ 3.68 million) will receive FHR from clubs as a tax on foreign players, which amounts to 750,000 rubles for each field player and 4.5 million for the goalkeeper.

17 - Directors of broadcasts on video displays located in stadiums will have to avoid displaying conflicts on ice, including fights.
According to the new regulation, such negligence will cost the home team in
50 000 rubles. Despite the official position of the FHR, the number of fights in the next season is unlikely to decrease. And the main fighter of the Super League - American Reed Simpson (a record for the number of penalty minutes - 300 in 41 matches) is still in the Chekhov's Vityaz.

18 - The smallest Super League hockey player will be the forward of the Russian national team Alexander Simakov (right), who went from Neftekhimik to CSKA in the offseason. His height is 166 cm.

19 - In spring, Ak Bars head coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov may become the first Russian coach since Soviet times to win the championship twice in a row. Before that, only Czech Czech Wujtek was able to do this.

20 - Gazprom, in previous years completely ignoring Russian hockey, took patronage over three clubs this season. In early August, after the reorganization of the St. Petersburg SKA, Gazprom entered the SKA St. Petersburg CJSC as the main shareholder with 75% of the shares. The board of directors was headed by Alexander Medvedev, deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom. In the metropolitan Dynamo, the company acted as a savior and did what Alexey Fedorychev couldn’t do, namely, he found money to cover his debts to hockey players. It is expected that soon one of the companies associated with Gazprom will enter the blue-and-white business as one of the club’s main shareholders, at least with this, the appointment of Mikhail Golovkov as the president of Dynamo. In addition, after renaming Sibneft this season, Gazprom-Neft became the official partner of Omsk Avangard. It is curious that Gazprom connected three super league clubs at once, but also established a kinship between them - the president of Dynamo Golovkov is a relative of Medvedev from SKA.

21 - According to the regulations, from the 2007/08 season, the Super League club is obliged to hold matches in the Sports Palace with a capacity of at least 5500 people. In this regard, several clubs are building new arenas this season /

It was developed in the summer of 2005, but in connection with last year AvtoVAZ’s reduction of sports financing, its construction did not begin. The Volgar Arena is designed for 2900 seats, and therefore, by the decision of the FHR, the home games of Togliatti can be moved to Saratov, moreover this year. If the club is not sent to the big leagues at all

22 - In June, the first copies of the Spartak Moscow encyclopedia were printed at the printing house. The official history of the hockey team. 1946-2006. " Ironically, when the club was removed from the championship in August, books began to resemble tombstones.

23 - Two years later, the Khabarovsk Amur returned to the upper class. This means that three times during the season, two Super League clubs will again have to make a record flight in the history of club hockey. St. Petersburg SKA will overcome 6580 kilometers (for comparison: the longest flight to the NHL is the route from New York to Los Angeles - 3960 kilometers). The army leadership will have to choose whether to buy air tickets for Dalavia flights at an average price of 27,000 rubles round-trip (it should be borne in mind that they will have to spend extra days in Khabarovsk) or rent a charter, the approximate cost of which, according to Pulkovo, from 1 000 000 to 2 000 000 rubles, depending on the class of the vessel.

24 - Only two head coaches of the Super League teams - Vladimir Yurzinov (Lokomotiv) and Sergey Mikhalev (Salavat Yulaev) expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the FHR and its president Vladislav Tretyak regarding the abolition of the PHL and the transfer of the right to host the Russian championship to the federation.
“Why did they disperse the PHL?” Which, tell me, FHR has to do with clubs? Her lot is mass hockey and national teams. I don’t understand Tretiak. Why is the federation not doing its job? Where does he lead us? The USSR has long been gone. ”
Vladimir Yurzinov Sr.

“Before it’s too late, people from the Federation urgently need to give up claims for the championship. Tretyak gave the reins to Harutyunyan, a young man with a non-hockey surname, who is an absolute beginner in our business. The glory of Grigory Mkrtichan in ours, and I think it’s impossible to kill the world hockey! Recovering PCP is very simple and takes not so long. Or do we want to return to the beginning of the 90s? ”
Sergey Mikhalev

The president of FHR, Alexander Steblin, managed to hold out for nine years. After his resignation, revolutionary changes took place in the structure of the federation.

Hockey of Russia:
persons, terms and factors

HARUTYUNYAN, Sergey - assistant to the State Duma deputy V. Tretyak, general director of the FHR, currently occupies the office of the ex-president of the FHR A. Steblin. According to outside observers - a person who decides literally everything in today's Russian hockey. An experienced manager who, in a short time, cleared the Augean financial stables inherited from his predecessors from the federation.

BYKOV, Vyacheslav - a talented and efficient coach who involuntarily found himself at the center of political processes. The careers of many figures now depend on the results of the newly made head coach of the country. Over previous years of work, he showed that these figures may not worry about careers.

VANCOUVER-2010 - contrary to general opinion, the main goal of the team of V. Tretyak. It was with an eye on the 2010 Olympics that the tax on foreign players and foreign goalkeepers was introduced on an emergency basis from this season. Otherwise, if the rules had been introduced since 2009, this innovation would not have time to give effect before the Olympics.

The NHL AGREEMENT is a vital document that they first decided to sign, then, in order to receive compensation for Eugene Malkin, they decided not to sign it, and after Malkin’s unauthorized departure to North America, they decided nothing at all.

TAXES - the main subject of dissatisfaction with clubs, one of the ways to raise the level of Russian goalkeepers and young field players, one of the ways to find money for the national teams of Russia of all ages.

CLUB PRESIDENTS - until recently, the main people of Russian hockey, who failed to finally agree among themselves and fell victim to reforms. Most are dissatisfied with the policies of the Tretyak, but because of the administrative resource of their views they do not publicly express.

PUTIN, Vladimir - President of the Russian Federation, author of the appeal to Tretyak: “When will we start to win in hockey? .. It feels like you haven't played hockey for a long time,” they bent down such a message. I ask, when will we win? ”(See also Tretiak)

PHL is a hockey league that was transformed into a closed joint-stock company in the spring of 2006 with the threat of the emergence of the Euro-Asian Hockey League (EAHL). The company appeared with the active participation of Vladimir Shalaev, a lawyer who has been involved in the development of Russian club hockey since 1998. Shalaev is a supporter of the concept of development of hockey as a business product, and therefore, in sign of disagreement with Tretyak’s policy, in June 2006 he voluntarily resigned from his post as sports director of FHR. Currently, PCL CJSC is in sleep mode, providing legal services and consulting to clubs.

REGULATIONS - until the last days of August, an absolutely mystical thing that was accepted on June 16, then retroactively made changes, then changed again and accepted again. With the exception of numerous fines (see taxes), it does not practically differ from last year’s PHL regulation.

TEAM OF RUSSIA - Recently, it has been truly the main team of the country, living at the expense of clubs. In the light of her future victories, any achievements of Russia in club hockey fade.

SPARTAK - the financial collapse of the club was Tretyak's first serious defeat in his new post. The indecision with which it was decided to remove the club from the championship with the subsequent re-design of the calendar did not add popularity either. Now the revival of the team will be engaged in the organization Spartak-Victoria under the leadership of Boris Mayorov.

STEBLIN, Alexander - ex-president of FHR, honorary president of FHR. Unlike the new president, FHR was loyal to subordinates and therefore is now remembered by many hockey figures almost with fondness.

TELEVISIONS - as in previous years, in the 2006/07 season the matches of the Russian Championship will be shown on the Sport and NTV-Plus channels. However, international matches of the national team will be broadcast by Channel One. Over time, it is expected that broadcasts of the national championship will go to the central channels.

TREYAK, Vladislav - Chairman of the State Duma Committee. By the will of the country's leadership was directed to revive hockey, build a "power vertical" (see. Scheme). The author of the answer is V. Putin (see Putin): “Well ... next year the World Cup will be held in Moscow. I think ... we will try. ” Immediately proved himself a tough leader, referring to the "will of the Kremlin", imposed his will on the presidents of clubs. A supporter of the development of hockey as a national product. He is subjected to harsh criticism, initiated by the restrained hockey clubs.

TUZIK, Igor is perhaps the only person in the FHR structure who has remained in his place even after revolutionary changes. He is still the general manager of the Russian national team.

TYAGACHEV, Leonid - President of the ROC. In the light of the existing contradictions with Fetisov, he actively supported his opponents and took a large part in the fate of Steblin. Thanks to connections, he lobbied for the appointment of Tretyak as president of the FHR, pushing Fetisov’s protege aside.

FETISOV, Vyacheslav - Head of the Federal Agency for Physical Culture and Sports. The ideological adversary of Tyagachev and Steblin. The author of the unrealized idea of creating the Euro-Asian Hockey League. In fact, he lost the fight for the post of president of the FHR. Now is away from hockey affairs. Perhaps that is why he recently joined the ranks of critics of the Tretyak’s activities, accusing him of passivity in adopting new laws for the benefit of sports, and again remembered the idea of creating the EACH.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP-2007 - by all accounts, the victory in Moscow is the main goal of the Tretyak team, for the sake of which he will do any decisive action. It is widely believed that after the Moscow championship all the innovations will be canceled and the PHL will be revived. It is also believed that in the event of an unsuccessful performance by the Russian national team in Moscow, Tretyak will resign.
