The Russian Hockey Federation intends to conduct doping control after each game round of the domestic championship.A few weeks before the start of the next Russian hockey championship among the Super League teams, the FHR leaders turned to the Rossport anti-doping support department to ensure that tests were carried out in each round. After which matches the sampling will be carried out, it is not yet clear. The procedure itself has not changed for several years. 5 minutes before the end of the meeting, the doping control officer draws lots in the presence of doctors from both playing teams. As a result, two hockey players from each team immediately after the final siren, even without removing their skates, are required to go to the medical office.
Doping control will be carried out not only at matches of the championship of Russia, but also during games and training of the Russian team. A sampling of 50 “sudden” samples is also planned. In other words, any hockey player will be able to check in between games and training. If the test result is positive, at least three people will suffer - the player himself, the club leader and the team’s doctor.
If earlier in Russian hockey there were doping scandals, they cannot be called loud. Systematic anti-doping work has been carried out over the past 7 years, and this season it will continue. According to Nikolai Uryupin, head of the FHR competition management department, the anti-doping service has never been tasked with catching a hockey player. Its mission was and consists, first of all, to prevent the use of illegal drugs and to bring to the attention of all interested parties lists of these substances, which are updated almost every day.
