Tomorrow, Moscow “Spartak” will be the first match in the last four years in the Champions League. A couple of the capital's club was made by the Moldavian “Sheriff”. Red and white captain Yegor Titov told the Gazeta journalist Kirill Yaroshevsky about the prospects of Spartak in the League, his rival and the condition of the team.- Egor, you have a game with the Moldavian “Sheriff”. What do you know about this team?
- Not much. I know where she is based, and I know that she has a good, beautiful stadium. And nothing more. Alas, the information is scarce. Only today we will get to know each other better. One of the advantages - Stanislav Salamovich Cherchesov flew to both games of the “Sheriff” in the League. He thoroughly studied the opponent and will tell us everything.
- Have you ever encountered them in the Commonwealth Cup? After all, “Sheriff” is a constant participant in this tournament ...
- It was so long ago that, frankly, I already forgot. I remember one thing: no one in the Cup could compete with Spartak then.
- What is the mood of the team on the eve of the match?
“After two draws, it could have been better.” We have a lot of mistakes, especially in defense. It does not feel reliable. In anticipation of such meetings, this is certainly scary. But I hope that professionals have gathered in our team, and we will approach this most important match in recent times in optimal condition.
- Spartak have not played in the Champions League for four years. What is it like to return to the club elite?
- Very interesting. It's like going back to school. You know, when you finish the eleven-year-old, after a while you forget what they taught there. And now everything has to be remembered anew - atmosphere, state of mind ... After all, I have a lot of good things connected with the Champions League. I would like to once again experience these feelings.
- What, in your opinion, are the chances of Spartak?
- Almost everyone considers Spartak to be the couple’s favorite. I probably agree. The name of Spartak is louder than that of Sheriff. But, as the players say, "the ball is round, the field is even." Therefore, you have to prove everything again. The first ninety minutes we play on the road. The main task is not to miss, but rather to win. There are also ninety or one hundred and twenty minutes to come. Of course, I would like to solve everything in the first match, but the overall level of the League is high, and it is not clear where you will gain and where you will lose. We'll see. Honestly, I look forward to this game.
- The next question is probably not for you. And yet: are any acquisitions directly under the Champions League in Spartak planned?
- This has been advertised more than once. Fedotov spoke about this, Shavlo spoke, Cherchesov spoke. Fedun confirmed that there is money to buy any players. We are waiting, because for strengthening we need at least one footballer per line. If we go to the Champions League, we need reinforcement, which is a sin.
