Sergey Gerasimets: "If Hiddink surpassed Byshovets in something, then only in the current popularity"

One of the assistants to the head coach of Lokomotiv told Sport Today about his work in Kazakhstan and the correspondence dispute between Anatoly Byshovets and Guus Hiddink.

- What is your personal assistance to Byshovets at the training camp?

- Like all other trainers, I work with field players in training ... Is this so important for readers?

“Interesting, of course.”

- I can’t understand what exactly: the orientation of classes or actions on the field personally Gerasimtsa?

- Both.

- Players perform various exercises in different parts of the field. Naturally, the head coach cannot break to lead everyone. Therefore, you have to prompt the players, show them what to do. In short, nothing special. Today we worked on strength, yesterday on speed ... But you better call Byshovets: he has a clearly prepared training plan.

“And what of this plan has already been completed?”

- Now the main task is to prevent groupings in the new team. You know, they happen to be in clubs: Brazilian, African ... Their absence is much more important than working with players on a role.

- Before Lokomotiv, you were the head coach at the Okzhetpes club in Kazakhstan. What have you achieved?

- I worked there all season. Took the tenth place. Previously, this team has traditionally fought for survival, and when I spent the championship calmly. Points were taken from the leaders, they did not think about any sortie. This is probably a success. But then for two months I came to my senses from what I encountered in Kazakhstan ... I had to work in very difficult conditions. I’m talking about financing, and about relationships within the team.

- Recently, the former captain of Okzhetpes Yuri Osipenko in an interview with the Kazakh press said that you are involved in contractual matches in the championship of Kazakhstan .

- Nonsense! You can call Okzhetpes and ask. Despite the words of Osipenko, I have nothing to do with dishonest football. Wherever I work, reputation is important to me. Everywhere I am known as a person who will never play the instruments. And Osipenko left the club on his own initiative, when the leadership fired coach Fistyakan. And he allegedly showed solidarity - they are both from Moldova.

- You were already an assistant to Byshovets in Tom. Is this the whole work experience in Russia?

- He was the main in the club of the second division from Cherepovets. Now it is called Sheksna. And before, he trained the Dynamo St. Petersburg farm club. Then Oleg Dolmatov worked in the main team. By the way, I also had a coaching debut in St. Petersburg. When in 2000 I finished playing in Zenit, they entrusted me with the revival of Dynamo Petersburg. The club was called Dynamo Stroimpuls and rose to the first division. Then I went to the farm club. And the team eventually died ...

- Your coaching experience is not rich: lower leagues and Kazakhstan. Maybe you should practice in the first division or more modest clubs in the Premier League like the same “Tom”?

- Well, I didn’t come from the street. He played in the union championship, a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv ... But, of course, I worry. There is a nuance here. When a coach works with football players, above which he was a player in terms of level, it is much easier for him. In Kazakhstan or in the second league there was not a single player who would surpass me. And in “Loco” there are entirely collections, stars, it’s harder to train them. Although more interesting. But you won’t get experience from the shelf. So I’m typing it next to Byshovets. And in the future I want to become the head coach of the Premier League club. There is such a dream. I can’t spend my whole life behind Anatoly Fedorovich!

- By the way, do not you think that the name of Byshovets after this arrival at Lokomotiv began to sound in the press at least as much as the name of Hiddink?

- Yes, in our country there was a lot of noise after the appointment of Hiddink. I just don’t know if he won anything at the national team level ...

- Twice fourth in world championships.

- And Byshovets won the Olympics. In my opinion, it’s more difficult to be a national team coach than in a club. Therefore, I highly appreciate the success of Anatoly Fedorovich. And if Hiddink surpassed Byshovets in something, then only in the current popularity. Hiddink is now the most popular coach in the country. Although, most likely, according to journalists. The same Byshovets is in unequal conditions with him. For Russian fans, the national team is the number one team. Not everyone is rooting for Lokomotiv - therefore, whatever one may say, Hiddink is more popular. But this war of popularity will end at the end of the year, when the team completes the qualifying round, and “Locomotive” - the championship. Then let's see who worked better and who is truly worthy of fame.
