Euroleague from a parallel world

“SPORT today” names the most significant events of the Russian hockey week.

FIRING

In Khabarovsk Amur, head coach Andrei Sidorenko was fired and put in place of Vladimir Marinichev.

The leadership of the Super League outsider was late with this decision by about six months. Even at the time of the performance of the major league, it was obvious that the team, which has good financial resources, is full of game problems. The ex-coach of the Polish national team was fond of experiments, and quarreled with almost all the best hockey players of the team. And although the failed off-season can hardly be attributed only to Sidorenko (good players do not want to play in Khabarovsk, but live on airplanes at the same time), many did not go to Amur solely because of the coach.

- In the offseason, we had a rather strange schedule, says one of the players. - On the day off, we were supposed to arrive at 23 o’clock at the base where Sidorenko lived, and celebrate with him.

The authorities were prompted to cool measures by three consecutive games in which the team could not print other people's gates. However, the mentor until the last day believed that the last place in the standings is not so scary and there are enough chances to correct the situation.

Khabarovsk prospects of Vladimir Marinichev (pictured) are also very foggy. He, of course, is not such a complex person as Sidorenko. But this may be his main problem. It is too soft and accessible to hockey players.

Parting

Omsk Avangard refused the services of Czech Vaclav Novak. Vasily Turkovsky left the ranks of Magnitogorsk Metallurg. Dmitry Yushkevich left SKA for America. And defender Dmitry Erofeev said goodbye to Novokuznetsk Metallurg.

The pre-bid campaign is yet to come, which means there is still time before the deduction season. But not everyone was waiting for the official go-ahead. Valery Belousov turned out to be very demanding of Novak, and he was never able to adapt to the Russian league. However, the coach himself did not contribute too much in this, giving the Czech a little playing time and not the most powerful partners.

Turkovsky was advised to write a statement of his own free will. However, he did not resist for long, because he did not understand at all what Fedor Kanareikin wanted from him.

But Yushkevich and Erofeev left their teams for family reasons. The defender of the St. Petersburg club in America got his first wife sick (maybe he will return to the army team). But Erofeev suddenly realized that Novokuznetsk is too far from Moscow and it is difficult for him to endure separation from his relatives.

DISCUSSION

Vladislav Tretyak voiced the idea of creating a hockey Euroleague.

Last week, the hockey community was discussing how soon the Euroleague would appear. The head of the FHR, Vladislav Tretyak, spoke about her at a meeting with Vladimir Putin and did not meet any opposition.

By and large, there is nothing to discuss here. Our forecast: there will be no Euroleague, just as the Fetisian EAHL will fail. There are several reasons for pessimism. You can talk about the low popularity of hockey, which makes it difficult to attract sponsors. That the Euroleague is not embedded in national calendars. But all this is not so important as the fact that not one of the undertakings of the Tretyak and Fetisov has yet been realized. Forget about it.

PHENOMENON

The gray cardinal of Russian hockey, the executive director of the FHR, Sergei Harutyunyan, became popular by speaking on the NTV-Plus Sport TV channel.

They say that Harutyunyan is always happy to give interviews and talk about his position on hockey issues, but no one turns to him for this. It is not true. Numerous requests from journalists for meetings were ignored. And after the television performance, it became clear why. The cardinal was verbose, but without fresh ideas and very predictable in the answers.

He did not say anything new. And even when he was asked about possible changes in the calendar of the Russian championship in the event of the Euroleague, he began to tell how the federation is developing children's sports in the regions. Now it’s completely clear that real-life FHR hockey live in parallel dimensions.

ACTION

Dynamo goalkeeper Vitaly Yeremeyev miraculously recovered from a difficult injury and had already defended a “zero” match against Yaroslavl Lokomotiv.

After the match, Yeremeyev was also chosen for doping analysis. In this regard, the hockey player was very nervous. But, apparently, everything worked out. At least there is no official information of alarming content. However, it is much more important that Dynamo did not miss for the first time this season.

ROLE

Sergey Gomolyako became the second coach of Chekhov's Vityaz.

One of the most original players of the recent past returns to big hockey as a coach. Gomolyako’s career had a lot of interesting things. He fired trainers, fought with fans, drank a lot of beer at the height of the season. But at the same time he remained one of the most powerful masters of the Super League. He really has golden hands, he could make a convenient pass from the most uncomfortable position (the crown trick is a pass from behind the goal). Now it’s just interesting what will happen in his new role.
