
To the successfully existing three years with the support of Gazprom Neft, the undergraduate
“Mathematics” at St. Petersburg State University is supplemented by the flows
“Mathematics, Algorithms and Data Analysis” and
“Modern Programming” with the support of JetBrains and Yandex. Planned strength:
- “Mathematics”, “Mathematics, algorithms and data analysis”: a total of 50 budget + 18 free extrabudgetary places (training paid for by Yandex);
- “Modern programming”: 25 places.

Strong math coursesMathematical courses are taught by teachers and research staff of the Research Laboratory. P.L. Chebysheva (the laboratory supervisor is the Fields Award S.K. Smirnov).
Strong technology coursesProgrammer courses will be read by developers of leading IT companies, in particular, JetBrains and Yandex. Accordingly, actual knowledge demanded by the industry will be given.
PracticeAlready from junior courses students will be invited to participate in program projects under the guidance of professionals. Such projects will provide valuable work experience in conditions as similar to “combat” as possible, as well as allow you to explore various technologies.
ResearchStudents will also have the opportunity to do research under the guidance of existing scientists in various fields of mathematics and computer science. This, in particular, will make it possible to prepare for admission to the master's and postgraduate courses at leading world universities.
