Restrictions for flying on drones in the days of the World Cup 2018 (FIFA 2018)

According to the orders of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation "On the establishment of restricted flight zones and restricted areas that will be in effect during the 2018 World Cup." The amendments have been published and entered into force.



That is At the time of the World Cup 2018 (FIFA 2018) from June 1, 2018 - 07/17/2018. 41 flight restriction zones are introduced over the residence and training of football teams and 10 restricted areas around the stadiums. Although flights are prohibited in these zones, they are relatively small - with a radius of 0.5 to 10 km.

Also, 11 large zones of restrictions with a radius of 110 km have been established - in the cities of Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Saransk, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad.

As indicated in the order of the Ministry of Transport, these restricted areas apply only to civilian manned and unmanned aircraft that are not equipped with radio communications equipment and secondary radar transponders.

As it was found out from official sources, the military of the Russian Federation will distribute special detachments to 11 Russian cities, in all of which the matches of the 2018 World Cup will be held. Their personnel will be armed with the Silok experimental weapon to fight flying drones, as well as Svetnitsa S-Ynitsa, R-934BMV Sinitsa and R-330R Resident complexes, which are designed to combat unmanned aerial vehicles.



The main reason for all these actions is the terrorist threat.
