The other day, a new CAD product from Bricsys was quietly and almost imperceptibly released under Linux, thus adding another must-have tool for
virtual prototyping to Linux.

Links for those who want to try / evaluate, the versions for Windows and MAC are also available:
download pageBricscad Shape Lessonslessons on the official YouTube channelI downloaded the package when installing on Debian installed with errors / unmet dependencies. I had to deliver libwebkitgtk-1.0-0, which in turn pulled several more packages with it.

Launch window

After launching the main window, I had a persistent feeling of something familiar, somewhere I had already seen a “painter” with a little man on the axis of coordinates :-)

When restarting, I tried to open one of my projects and ... it fell

This behavior was observed if you open third-party / finished projects from the launch window, but if you open it immediately after launching the main window from the menu, then everything is fine for editing and saving.

As a conclusion, a special IMHO. The tool at Bricsys came out quite fit, at first sensations something in between SketchUp and AutoCad.
Pros:-
146% free, without SMS- simple and intuitive interface
- 3D solid modeling
- accuracy and support of teams as in classical CAD
- availability of a library of materials and components
- full compatibility of output files with AutoCad, saving in formats .dwg, dxf, .dwt
Minuses:- proprietary software
- while there is no localization in Russian, only English
- sometimes falls
