It came warm and mosquitoes appeared. There is no desire to pour in poisonous sprays, so I decided to look at what shops can offer to protect against mosquitoes. I want to believe in progress, so I purposefully looked for some gadgets that should help a person in this difficult battle with small bloodsuckers. Well, what came out of it, look further.
I decided to test all means directly on myself, and all this happened at the dacha, next to a large pond. That is, I did not experience a lack of mosquitoes. My mosquitoes are rampant from about 18 to 23 hours, but they fly out already at 16. And even the grids on the windows do not always help, because when they enter and exit the house, they penetrate with the person.

A trap for almost 18 thousand rubles should not just catch mosquitoes, but also mow the lawn, as I thought. But it turned out to be a little different. A large box, a large case of not very thick plastic, which turned out when I took the device with my hands from both sides - it just began to sag. This tower is quite high and, although it has IP64 protection (protection against dust and water sprayed in any direction), I would not risk putting it in the open air. With a good wind, it will simply turn it over, and normal rain will easily get inside the device. This device is connected via a 12V power adapter and has an extension of 10 meters. But the connection is not insulated in any way, and the connection connector hangs somewhere at ground level. It may be that if the power adapter malfunctions, the phase gets on the wet grass and jerks someone.
Now let me tell you what the trap itself is: it is a cylindrical case, on the sides of which there are 3 LEDs and three computer coolers with a diameter of 120 mm. The fourth cooler stands inside and throws mosquitoes from the inside into the glass. Plastic container for caught mosquitoes has foam walls, that is, the air is blown well, but mosquitoes can not fly.
Well, in the upper part there is a small container with holes, where you have to put an attractant tablet - this is a special fragrance that should attract mosquitoes. I heard that mosquitoes also respond well to the smell of beer - this is an alternative to attract mosquitoes.
What can I say in the end? It is impossible to sleep in a room with this trap at night: the light shines brighter than a night light, and the fans, although they do not spin to the full extent, create an unpleasant hum. After installing the trap in the gazebo on the street, the result was not particularly pleased: for the night the trap caught about a dozen mosquitoes and a couple of night butterflies. I kill so many mosquitoes on myself for 10 minutes in the evening.
My opinion: this tower is not worth the money.

In the same store I saw a rather curious fly swatter / mosquito in the form of a tennis racket. I have seen such before, but I have never heard reviews, so I decided to try. The racket is made of sturdy plastic and not bad in the hand. It is powered by two AA cells (finger batteries), which is much better than various built-in batteries: that is, it just replaced everything if it is dead. That's just a replacement will need a Phillips screwdriver. That's what prevented the manufacturer to make a simple latch? I can hardly imagine how the spouse in the country house will mess around with the tool to start the fight against mosquitoes. Moreover, the device comes without batteries installed.
The principle of operation is extremely simple: there are three layers of conductors (two external and internal), between which not weak such a charge is generated. And if a mosquito or some midge falls between these conductors, it is hit by such a stun gun. Interestingly, the device was clearly made by humanists and for humanists. In the photo, I caught a pumped mosquito sitting on his arm. He was paralyzed by the blow, but after a while the mosquito began to flap its wings, and after 15 minutes I did not find it on the racket. That is, the device does not kill, but paralyzes for a while.
Add to this that the mosquito must still catch a racket in flight. A generates a discharge device only when the button is pressed. In general, this is more fun for children: run after mosquitoes with a racket under tension. By the way, if you put your finger between the net, you can feel a not bad blow. If we’d get a finger from an adult, then what about children?
My opinion: do not give children to avoid injury, and adults will not brush off the hordes of mosquitoes.

This device is non-volatile and works without any batteries. I took it just to use in the gazebo. It looks more like a lamp rather than a gadget. And in fact, it is a gas fumigator - a complete analogue of the electric home, but without reference to the outlet. A can of propane-butane is screwed in at the bottom, the same as in lighters.
The body rotates on the risks at the bottom edge until it clicks - it works piezo ignition. After that, the device is ready for operation. Upstairs there is a metal platform that starts to heat up. We put a tablet for it on a fumigator and that's it, the work has begun.
Gas cylinders are sold in sets with tablets. I tried to use pills from an electric fumigator - they are almost half the size, but the efficiency is not the same. Whether it is in the impregnation, or in the concentration of the substance in the tablet. In general, the mosquitoes disappeared from the arbor after half an hour, only efficiency decreases with the wind: a cloud of evaporation simply blows away, and from the windward side brings mosquitoes.
My opinion: for a tent camp or gazebo in the country - a very good option. In the absence of wind, it really accelerates mosquitoes, although one pill is only 4 hours long (it is necessary to put a new one every evening).

The same manufacturer noticed a second device, radically different in form, but not according to the principle of operation. If the first fumigator is used for stationary installation on a table or in a tent, then this device is clearly wearable. That is, he already has a clip for fastening on a belt or a pocket of shorts / trousers.
It also works from gas cartridges, which are screwed in from the bottom. But there is a difference. If you insert a flat battery in the back (the clip is removed and a space for the CR2032 battery under it, as on all motherboards of computers), then the thermostat works during operation and the LED lights up in a blue light. It is immediately visible from afar that the device is in operation and the plate is heated. If the gas bottle runs out and the flame goes out, the LED will also turn off. So a good reminder.
Gas can with enough gas for 12 hours. If we consider that the pill in the fumigator must be changed every 4 hours, it turns out that 1 bottle is enough for 3 tablets.
The fumigator adequately copes with its work: they tried it also in the gazebo and on a walk. If you do not run quickly and there is no wind, then a cloud of evaporated mosquito repeller covers up to 20 square meters, that is, a small clearing. You can also go for mushrooms, and sit quietly on a fishing trip. The manufacturer declares complete safety of fumes for adults and children - this is any better than a taser, which fingers easily slip through.
My opinion: a universal fumigator and for gatherings, and for mushroom pickers, and for fishermen. A reminder light on the fumigator will promptly warn about the need to change the gas cartridge.
