In mid-April, Xindao and its XD Design brand successfully completed the crowdfunding campaign of the Bobby Urban backpack on
Kickstarter . Less than a month, and the active Dutch presented another modification of the backpack. The novelty is called Bobby Urban Lite; let's see what she is.
Sports and urban
Externally, Bobby Urban Lite is not much different from its predecessor. This is the same "rolltop": the top of the backpack is twisted and fixed neatly.

An important explanation: although the backpack is free from a rigid frame, it is not a simple backpack bag. It has an anatomical back, which evenly distributes the load. But the front part of the backpack is quite soft and therefore takes the form of the contents, so that you can put all the necessary things during the day.
From the outside, only one noticeable pocket is visible — on the side, for a bottle of water, which a self-respecting athlete or HLS enthusiast always carries with him. Elastic lacing is attached to the front of the backpack, which can be used to carry a ball, helmet or other sports equipment.
One large flat pocket is hidden in the back of the backpack. It closes with a zipper and is inaccessible to outsiders while Bobby is carried on his back. It is convenient to store a passport and train or plane tickets. Directly above the pocket there is an elastic band for attaching a backpack on the handle of a suitcase; in this position, all the necessary documents become available when the proud owner of Bobby hurries to land. In the same place - a strap for keys.
Another hidden zip pocket is in the right strap of Bobby. It is designed to store bank and transport cards and is equipped with RFID protection. RFID attacks still refer to exotic scams, but it's nice that the creators of XD Design are thinking about it.
Inside, on the hard back of Bobby, there are dense compartments for a tablet and a laptop with a diagonal of 15.6 inches.
My backpack, my castle
In XD Design came up with a whole philosophy of "backpack-fortress." It is devoid of places vulnerable to pickpockets - easily accessible pockets, open zippers. At the same time, the owner of the backpack protective elements should not cause unnecessary complications.
The hidden pockets of Bobby Urban Lite listed above are a characteristic feature of the concept. The cord for attaching bulk cargo is added as an exception and for the convenience of the owner. Again, they often steal not helmets and balls, but smartphones and wallets.
Spinning top serves as the second important barrier, a kind of "serf ditch." Deft thief will not be difficult to unzip the usual backpack. At the rolltop, the lightning of the main compartment runs along its edge and twists with it. At Bobby, the design also closes with a combination lock.
The resulting “handle” backpack is fastened to the leg of a bench, chair, fence, or lantern. Then it will not be possible not only to open it, but even to carry it imperceptibly.
“Crowdfunding” Bobby Urban is different from the new backpack material, which is not cut with a knife. Hence the Lite feature: not exactly an armored tank, but a lightweight accessory for traveling around the city.
