New smart pen from NeoLAB - SmartPen M1 has been released

And if the first model was more characterized as a business gadget, then the design of the new pen is clearly focused on a younger audience.



The new version in terms of its technical capabilities is no different from the handle N2 . The principle of operation, if briefly, is to synchronize your handwritten notes and save them in a smartphone, tablet or PC on Windows 10.

Work is carried out in a pair with special notebooks, which are equipped with NCode markup.

Work with applications

NeoLab pens work with mobile applications for IOS and Android . Handles are connected in a couple of simple steps:



The main task of these applications is to save your handwritten notes in a smartphone.



Here you control the color and thickness of the lines when it comes to creative work.



Handwriting recognition mode is also available.



And the ability to instantly send the desired recipient. Such a model of using the pen will be suitable for representatives of creative professions, it may be of interest to designers, artists, architects, for whom it is important to quickly fix the sketch, quickly distribute it.

However, this model probably limited the capabilities of the handle. Therefore, the PaperTube application ( iOS / Android ) has recently been functioning.



This is, relatively speaking, the application "for conferences" or lectures, which is quite suitable for "student use" of the pen. For example, you can record video speeches of the speaker, and in parallel make the necessary notes in real time.

And, finally, since the beginning of the year, the pen has been working from a PC (for now - on Windows10 ).



Here you can also save, edit the sheets, add all the necessary information and then send it to the addressees, which nevertheless more fit into the "office model" of use.



At the same time, the “multi-user mode” became available in this format, which can be useful during brainstorming sessions, conferences or meetings, when the comments of all participants appear on one sheet.

In other words, the functionally new M1 knob is in no way limited with respect to the first model.

But…

New design M1

The pen came out in a new design, and, firstly, now it is very, very reminiscent of an ordinary pen. And it is round!



Now the pen is not much different from the "stupid" accessories. Here, for example, "Faber".



In size, the SmartPen M1 may still be slightly larger, but smaller than the older model.



And, perhaps, the most comfortable change - M1 is easier on 6 grams (21 grams against 27), than the N2 version. This was made possible largely due to the material of the case: M1 - made of plastic .

The only innovation is a kind of mark on the body, a plastic ledge. He is like a marker of how to properly hold the pen.

Since the pen has acquired a cylindrical shape, it is convenient to take it in your hand, in principle, in any position, however, with the “free” position of the hand, the scanner, which is responsible for text recognition, will be closed.

Now the “starting” notebook has become much smaller, and these are just four pages with markup samples.



The notebook did not fit into the tube box. Nevertheless, as already specified, you can print the markup for free + the cost of notebooks for pens - from 790 rubles .

From the visual changes, it is worth adding that for the M1 pen they expanded the palette of colors. And from the "commercial" features - this is a reduced price. The model in Russia costs 11,990 rubles .

As a result

M1 has become more convenient and easier. Now the assortment is logically divided into “business accessories”, which cover the N2 models, and the youth creative gadget pens, which are the M1 models.

By lowering the degree of “prestige”, NeoLAB reduced the distance to a young audience, for which the visual component also plays an important role in choosing devices and accessories.

In this case, the "agony of choice" will not be: the owners of M1 will not suffer because of a lack of functions, having received all the same applications and features.
