Intel Core i3-8121U - there is 10 nm

Intel Cannon Lake processors had a difficult fate - their release was postponed, transferred, and then postponed again ... The 10-nanometer process technology proved more difficult to implement than it was thought. However, all technical problems sooner or later had to be resolved - the question remained only in terms. And now the time has come: without a special pump, even, rather, quietly, the first 10-nm Intel processor was launched on the market - the Intel Core i3-8121U model.

Information about the new processor has already appeared on the ARK website , but you can only find it there with a search - Cannon Lake does not have its own page yet. It seems that such a “technical” launch of the new product is associated with the announcement of the Lenovo Ideapad 330 laptop , which claims the Cannon Lake processor. So that no laptop with an “unknown science” processor appears on the shelves, its existence has been made publicly available. Announcements of other models of the family so far, it turns out, should not be expected.

Core i3-8121U is designed for wearable devices, has 2 cores and 4 threads, the frequency is from 2.2 to 3.2 GHz. Functionally, it is not much different from other 8th generation Intel Core. We compared it with a similar model in the line model i3-8130U and wrote out all the differences found.

So, a start. It is difficult to say whether technological difficulties have been completely overcome, however, definitely, the release of the first model in the lineup brings the appearance of the next ones. We will expect them.
