LED lamp for 49 rubles

More recently, LED lamps were quite expensive, and now they are sometimes sold at prices incandescent bulbs.

Before the holidays, I found that in Auchan for the stock they sell Start 10 W lamps for 49 rubles. For the sake of interest, bought to test. I assumed that everything would not be very good, but the results of the testing surprised me.

The lamp box indicates a working voltage of 220–240 volts, a power of 10 W, a luminous flux of 800 lm, a color temperature of 2700K, the equivalent of an incandescent lamp is 75 W. Information about the color rendering index and the level of the pulsation is not, there is only the inscription "comfortable for the eyes."

On the base of the lamp the production date is 01.2018.

The lamp is very light - it weighs only 33 grams.

According to the above parameters and price, it could be assumed that the lamp uses the simplest RC driver and the cheapest LEDs with a low color rendering index, but everything turned out to be much better.

The Uprtek MK350D spectrometer showed that the color rendering index of the lamp is quite high - about 83, and the ripple level is less than 1%. This lamp can be used in residential premises, its light is really safe.

The color temperature is higher than the stated - it is about 3100K. Such a light is whiter than that of an incandescent lamp with its 2700K, but it is quite comfortable.

The actual lamp power measured by the Robiton PM-2 device turned out to be one watt lower than the stated - 8.96 watts.

The luminous flux measured with a two-meter integrating sphere and a Instrument Systems spectrometer was 687 lm. This is 14% less than the declared 800 lm. Such a lamp can replace an incandescent lamp of 60 W, and if the mains voltage is lowered to 210 volts, it will burn brighter than a 75-watt incandescent lamp.

Speaking of stress. To my surprise, it turned out that a full-fledged IC driver is used in the lamp and its brightness does not drop by more than 10% when the supply voltage drops to 152 V.

Half an hour after switching on, when all the tests were carried out, the lamp body warmed to 71 degrees.

Within twenty minutes after switching on, the luminous flux of the lamp drops by 18% (in the first five minutes by 12%).

These are quite common results for modern lamps: for example, a 9.5 W comparable in power and certainly a high-quality OSRAM lamp has a case temperature of 83 degrees, and the luminous flux drops by 17% in half an hour and by 8% in the first five minutes.

Based on these data, it can be assumed that the thermal mode of the LEDs in the Start lamp is not harder than in a more expensive lamp, and it can work for a long time.

The manufacturer indicates the lamp life is 15000 hours and gives a 1 year warranty. For LED lamps, this is a bit - the lamps usually indicate a working time of 25-50 thousand hours and give a guarantee of 2-5 years, but for a lamp for 49 rubles it is completely excusable.

Lamp Start 10 W turned out to be quite decent - it gives almost 700 lm of comfortable light without pulsation and with a sufficiently high color rendering index and works in a wide voltage range without dimming brightness.

Most likely, all such lamps with the same production date 01.2018 will be just as good, but there is no guarantee that the same lamps with different production dates will have the same high color rendering index - the manufacturer does not guarantee this, and they can supply other cheap lamps and other LEDs, as happened with cheap Philips lamps .

I recommend buying high-quality LED lamps with a guarantee of at least two years (and preferably five years) and with characteristics that exactly correspond to those stated, but this lamp for 49 rubles also has the right to life.

PS I tested all the LED lamps that are sold in Leroy Merlin - 120 pieces. Results on the site .
