Just a couple of years ago, when choosing a filament for a 3D printer, you had to keep your ears open - it was easy to buy a poor-quality thread, an uneven diameter tangled in the coil, and it was just not clear what it was made of. A clogged nozzle, ripped orders, downtime - an incomplete list of the "joys" of using such a filament.
It is worth remembering that the nameless material of an unknown manufacturer could be made from anything. People who work with 3D printing and are constantly close to print printers unwittingly inhale it all and put their health at undue risk.
Times have changed. A company appeared in Russia that seriously started producing high-quality domestic plastic for 3D printing and became the largest filament manufacturer in the country.
Today we are visiting REC.
The REC company is almost five years old. A small team created during this time a full production of the filament. It all started with two people - Nikita and Michael, but now in the REC more than a dozen employees.
The company produces eleven types of threads of twenty colors. On a monthly basis, REC ships more than four tons of branded plastic to Russian and foreign customers. We learn the same as they do it.
REC production was shown to us by one of the founders of the company and its technical director, Mikhail Shishkin.
